EPISODE 34 "Sonic The Fugitive" Day 1 / 1:27 PM - The Episode begins high above Station Square, in a GUN Chinook helicopter. In the cargo bay, under heavy guard, sits Sonic the Hedgehog in handcuffs. One of the guards tells the hedgehog that his destination is Prison Island. Sonic decides that prison is not for him, and incapacitates the agents. Sliding open the side hatch, Sonic jumps onto the wing, removing a piece of metal from it's surface. As the astonished pilots continue flying, Sonic hurtles himself into space, airboarding down toward Station Square. At a small skate park, the boarders are downright flabbergasted when Sonic lands in their bowl. With a "Sorry!" Sonic takes off. Area 99, having received reports on Sonic's escape, begins monitoring the fleeing hedgehog, as he juices through downtown. Sonic makes a sudden stop when he realizes that GUN has sent their Beatle robots to take him down. About-facing, Sonic bolts as the bots start wrecking the city with their atrocious aim. Ducking into an alley, Sonic dives into the sewers as the Beatles putter past. Bummed about having to use the smelly sewer system, Sonic treks off to clear his not-so-good name. In the other city, Chris is walking home with a kid from his new school. The blond-haired boy asks if he was from Station Square. When Chris nods, the boy presses him if he has seen that super-fast, blue hedgehog named Sonic running around. Chris is kind of reluctant to detail his knowledge of Sonic, but tells his new friend a few things. At an intersection, the boy tells Chris bye, as the young Thorndyke ponders on what Sonic is doing. In Washington DC, the President is being briefed by his assistant in his limousine. The President asks her about Sonic's escape, and Sam Speed butts in, remarking that Sonic will not stay captured for any length of time. The aide continues her report, when the limo screeches to a stop. The aide also screeches at Sam, who brushes off her protests about his driving. Day 1 / 7:30 PM - Later that night, Station Square Museum has a visitor. Inside, the Green Chaos Emerald sits where the diamond that Rouge heisted used to stand. A dark figures shadow passes over the glass case. The alarm blares, as a small figure vamooses out of the building. Outside, GUN Hawks surround the joint, trapping the thief. As the Hawks scan the hedgehog-shaped villain, the black hedgehog gives a wicked grin. The Hawks let loose with their lasers, as the figure jumps and flips around the assaulting beams with ease. Holding up his hands, a flare of light flashes from him, blowing away the Hawks. The dark rodent then proceeds to zoom off toward downtown Station Square. At the White House, The GUN General reports to his boss that the Chaos Emerald has been taken from the museum. The President asks who the perpetrator was. The answer: None other than Sonic the Hedgehog. The President orders the General to apprehend Sonic at once. With a salute, the General exits the Oval Office. Day 1 / 8:05 PM - Later, in Area 99, The General orders GUN machines to hunt down the speedy suspect. A large squadron of GUN Beatles swarm from Prison Island, mindlessly searching for Sonic the Hedgehog. In their penthouse apartment, Chris, Cream, Cheese, Chuck, Ella, and Mr. Tanaka are watching the news, as a fill-in reporter details the theft of the Chaos Emerald from Station Square Museum. The TV changes to show a security camera shot of a black hedgehog bashing the glass cover off the stand. Chris cries out, thinking him to be Sonic. Cream and Cheese defend Sonic, telling Chris that Sonic would never steal anything. Chuck also thinks it could be Sonic, but backs down when the rest of the troupe berates him. The reporter adds that Sonic is wanted, and is to be turned over to GUN robots if captured. Chris is saddened at this turn of events, while Ella and Tanaka tell him that things will turn out fine. Pressing his palms to the window, Chris hopes to the moon-lit sky that Sonic can remain free. Day 1 / 8:24 PM - Back in Station Square, sewer grates and manholes are blasted open by GUN Beatles, which descend into the pipes in droves to flush out the hedgehog. Deep underground, a group of homeless men, along with the former Presidential aide, sit around a small fire bin. The man bemoans his fate, rambling on about Prison Island and what GUN is going to do. A ruffian grabs him and starts to shake him up, the aide fighting back. Their tussle pauses when sirens blare over their manhole, and Sonic flashes by, with a posse of Beatles close behind. At Prison Island, Stuart and Scarlet Garcia are driving toward the bridge checkpoint. Stopping at the gate, Stuart shows his security badge to a camera. After a quick scan, the gate opens, and the conspiring duo drive into the administrative area. After a bit, the pair wind up in the Administrator's office. Garcia asks the man about Project Shadow, what it was and why it was created. The Administrator brings up a security video from the previous night, showing GUN B-3x Hot Shot Walker challenge Dr. Eggman and the reawakened black hedgehog. The spiny villain leaps high, smashing the Hot Shot with one mighty punch. The man tells the two that Dr. Eggman unleashed the ultimate life form, a creature very similar to Sonic. The man then gets very angry, yelling at Stuart and Garcia as a shot of dark rodent passes over the monitor. In Station Square, Sonic streaks from the sewers, as the multitude of Beatles pursue. Using a manhole as a shield, he smashes the Beatles and slams the cover back on the hole. However, the fight has only begun, as a GUN F-6t Big Foot Walker lands before the fugitive Sonic. Sonic isn't the least worried, as he managed to save a Power Ring for just such a situation. The Big Foot stomps forward, firing it's chain gun. Dodging bullets, Sonic leaps skyward, activates the ring, and smacks the walker with a Super Sonic Spin. The walker shrugs off the hit, and launches it's missiles. Sonic retreats, speeding up a building, leading the rockets on a merry chase before dropping down on the Big Foot. Skipping to safety in the nick of time, Sonic watches as the missiles shred the machine with a blast. The F-6t's remains glow with a yellow light, as Shadow the Hedgehog Chaos Controls atop the ruined walker. Shadow smirks at his blue look-alike, as Sonic leaps to the attack. Before Sonic can land a blow, Shadow disappears. At Prison Island, Stuart continues to watch the security video of Shadow. Sonic spots Shadow standing on a buildings roof. Sonic juices up the building, but before he can catch the dark hedgehog, he Chaos Controls again. Shadow appears on a higher roof with a small laugh. Sonic issues a challenge to his dark doppelganger, running down to the city streets. Shadow takes Sonic up on his challenge, as the pair have an impromptu race to see who is the fastest thing alive. The duo whiz down the avenues, Sonic sprinting, Shadow skating. In the penthouse, Chuck finds out about the battle in city center from his son Nelson. Chris hurries off to find Sonic, Tanaka following his charge while Chuck makes for the car. The race continues, as Shadow starts to play dirty, taking a swipe at Sonic. Sonic dodges the hit, while Shadow smirks at his rival. Sonic rockets ahead, Shadow accelerating to catch up. Chris, Chuck, and Tanaka cruise the streets searching for their friend. Shadow suddenly Chaos Controls, as the trio fishtail to a halt ahead of Sonic. Shadow sucker hits Sonic, striking him in the back with a dropkick. As Sonic hits the asphalt, an Eggman camera-orb floats up, beaming the video to Eggman's Hidden Base. Eggman enjoys the show with his lackeys, thinking back to the previous night when he released this magnificent living weapon from his cryogenic sleep. At first, he had mistaken the hedgehog for Sonic, but that impression soon changed as the black hedgehog introduced himself as Shadow, and bowed before Eggman! Eggman's shock was interrupted by the coming of the Hot Shot Walker, which Shadow destroyed with a single hit. Eggman snarls that Sonic has finally met his match, as Shadow is the Ultimate Lifeform. With an evil chuckle, Eggman watches on. Back in City Center, Sonic is still on the ground when Shadow holds up the Green Chaos Emerald. As Chris yelps about the Emerald, Sonic tries to take it from his rival, who disappears again. Reappearing behind him, Shadow taunts the blue bore. Sonic again launches to the offensive, only for Shadow to Chaos Control once more. Chuck is shocked by the black hedgehog's speed, which is almost warp-fast. Shadow laughs at the group from a streetlamp. Holding high the Chaos Emerald, Shadow utters "Chaos Control!" Sonic speeds off, while Shadow prods his blue enemy. Appearing ahead of Sonic, Shadow ducks a kick from his rival, and proceeds to knock the stuffing out of the heroic hedgehog. Sonic is floored. Shadow tells Sonic that he was created by Professor Gerald, the greatest scientific genius ever. Shadow utters his name to his beaten foe, tells him "Adios", then Chaos Controls just before the police arrive. While a number of Beatle robots keep him in their sights, the fuzz read Sonic his rights, and tell him his destination: Prison Island. Sonic finally surrenders, sitting on the pavement, holding out his hands for cuffs. In a short time, Sonic is taken in chains into a waiting chopper for transport to Prison Island. Day 1 / 9:30 PM - As the helicopter buzzes off in the night, Shadow vows revenge against the world for the loss of his beloved Maria. In Dr. Eggman's Hidden Base, the Doc is bouncing off the walls in happiness, party balls exploding, while Decoe and Bocoe cheer. Eggman shakes Shadow's hand, the hedgehog has succeeded where he could not: Defeat Sonic with his own abilities. However, Shadow bursts the Doc bubble, telling him that they require more Chaos Emeralds in order to power the Eclipse Cannon. As Eggman muses on how to find more Chaos Emeralds, Bokkun floats up with a message for his master. Tossing him the TV, Eggman listens to Rouge's offer to make up for working against him, and for repentance, will bring a present for him. Before Eggman can hear any more, the TV blows up, Bokkun laughing manically away. As the smoke clears from the Control Room, Rouge drops in with a bouquet of roses, Eggman quickly running up to greet the girl. The she-bat pulls from the red flowers the Dark Blue Chaos Emerald. She reminds the surprised Eggman that she is a first-rate treasure hunter, and that she knows the location of the other Chaos Emeralds. Smiling, Rouge turns to catch Shadow staring at her, who quickly turns away with a "Hmph!" Rouge introduces herself to the assembled males, and asks for Shadows name. Speaking his name, Shadow turns to Rouge, spitting her with a piercing look. Day 2 / 6:03 AM - In Station Square Harbor, Mr. Tanaka and Chris board the Thorndyke yacht in disguise. They will travel to Prison Island and free Sonic themselves. Wishing the two luck, Chuck, Ella, Cream, and Cheese see them off. High above in the X Tornado, Tails and Amy are also on their way to Prison Island to save their friend. Day 2 / 6:30 AM - In the prison block, Sonic is quite truly trapped. Locked in a cage, surrounded by a bubble of air, in a tank of water, he has no chance of escape. On the wall behind him, a series of technical notes occupy the surface. Sonic is on his own.
